A week later, Qi Nian found it harder to wake up in the morning to attend class. Especially since the weather was getting colder and colder. 

Qi Nian  continued her routine of getting up, fighting off her sleep. 

This morning, she was struggling to stay conscious in her bed. The phone under her pillow suddenly rang. 

Not reading the caller ID, she swiped the screen to answer. 

“Qi Nian?”

Hearing the slight interruption in the electrical current, she knew that it was a call from overseas. 

Qi Nian’s sleepiness immediately disappeared. Sitting up straight, she looked at her phone and Ji Yanxin’s name flashed back at her. 

After coming back to her senses, she asked, “Ji...Professor Ji?”

“Hm.” The day’s events made him exceptionally tired. Sinking into the soft sofa, he closed his eyes while listening to her energetic voice. “I have something...I want... I have a favor to ask of you.”

Qi Nian self-reported her absence, and immediately after, she went to the pet shop where Qi Bao was. 

The pet shop owner was already waiting for Qi Nian. He took her to where Qi Bao was and filled her in on Qi Bao’s condition.

Everything was already explained in detail by Ji Yanxin on the phone. 

This time, under the pet shop’s care, Qi Bao was very uncooperative. Throughout the week, he has been restless and emotionally depressed. The owner had tried several methods, but none of them had worked. 

That is, until two days ago, Qi Bao began to stop eating and the owner could only contact Ji Yanxin.  

The only way to deal with this was to bring him home with her and feed him herself. 

However, Qi Nian didn’t dare to take him home, so she took him to her apartment. 

As soon as they entered her apartment, Qi Bao started to sniff around. 

Qi Nian put his potty on the balcony, allowing him to sniff around before adding dog food to his bowl. 

Afraid he wouldn’t eat, she only poured it halfway full with milk to soften it. Along with that, she added the nutrient cream instructed by the pet shop owner. 

Qi Bao wandered over to the aroma radiating off of the food. Pushing the bowl in front of Qi Bao, he dipped his head and began eating. 

From the way Qi Bao was devouring the food, it made her think that he did everything on purpose. 

After feeding Qi Bao, Qi Nian called Ji Yanxin. 

Afraid she would forget details, she wrote everything on a post it note. Sitting with Qi Bao by her feet, she rubbed his back before picking up her phone to make the call. 

Ji Yanxin was not asleep yet; he had his laptop open and was going through some emails.  

Suddenly his phone buzzed. 

He turned his gaze away from the laptop before setting his eyes on Qi Nian’s name on the phone screen. 

“Professor Ji.”

Hearing his breathing on the other end, she started to get nervous. 

Reading the post it note, she said, “I have taken Qi Bao home. The pet shop owner had confirmed that he had no health problems. I also picked up Qi Bao’s food, toys, and other daily necessitates. I had just fed him dinner...everything is normal, there was no refusal to eat...the owner also recommended to feed him shark cartilage powder after recovering his appetite...and...”

Qi Nian tilted her head, clamping her phone in between her ear and shoulder. Using her available hand, she flipped to the next page. 

Ji Yanxin listened to her report on Qi Bao. From the looks of it, it seemed like she wasn’t thinking about what she had to say and going off of a list. 

His hotel room was quiet. 

Besides the sound of Qi Nian, only the running of his laptop could be heard. 

Exhaustion started to hit him and he leaned back into his chair. 

Looking out the window, he could see the full moon shining in the darkness. 

Qi Nian spoke blandly, making sure to not miss anything. Taking a sip of water, she replied, “Professor Ji, don’t worry. I will take care of Qi Bao!”

Ji Yanxin retracted his gaze and looked at the exam sent over by Professor Shen. 

Two days ago, Professor Shen gave an exam that Qi Nian also participated in. 

...only her exam sheet was scanned and sent to Ji Yanxin. 

To be honest...it was terrible. 

Ji Yanxin curled his lips, “I’m not worried.”

Qi Nian had prepared a lot of other things to say to show that she’s competent, but his reply disrupted her plan.

Don’t...don’t worry?

Before she could say anything, Ji Yanxin spoke again. “Sorry that I have to trouble you with Qi Bao.”

Qi Nian’s brain was a mess and could not speak properly. Calming down, “It’s no trouble, no trouble at all!”

Ending the call, Qi Nian rolled back and forth on the bed a couple times. Jumping off the bed, she gave Qi Bao a kiss on his head, “Thank you!”

Qi Bao, who was pushed to the ground by her, covered his eyes with his paws. 

After a minute, Qi Zai who had been absent from Weibo for a long time made a post. The fans were suddenly surprised and swept away by her post.
