 “Cough...” Liu Xia cleared her throat in a contrived manner. 

Following the soft cough, her confused voice asked through the headset, “You were stopped by a dog in the underground parking lot of the terminal building?”

Qi Nian finally tore her gaze away from the sketch book and looked at Liu Xia, who was on the computer screen. Evidently not paying attention, she took a moment to recall her friend’s words before answering, “Yeah... A golden retriever bit my bag and wouldn’t let go.”

Liu Xia was baffled by the bizarre situation – “Didn’t you say golden retrievers were civil gentlemen? Why...?”

That afternoon still perplexed Qi Nian to this day. Unable to neither laugh nor cry at the situation, Qi Nian replied, “Because I had dog food in my bag.”

Liu Xia laughed, “What about the owner? Did they compensate you?”

Qi Nian focused on her hands for a while, but did not answer. 

Qi Nian’s webcam is broken, so Liu Xia could only hear the audio but couldn’t see anything. Liu Xia didn’t notice Qi Nian’s strange actions, so she muttered to herself, “Recently, a golden retriever went on a rampage on the lower floors of your housing complex after it got freed from its chains...”

“Anyways, how did you deal with it after?” questioned Liu Xia.

“Afterwards?” Qi Nian tilted her head in recollection and muttered, “I asked for his phone number.”

Liu Xia, in shock, was quiet for a while. Finally realizing that there was something wrong with Qi Nian, she said, “But it isn’t in your nature to just let something like that go, right?”

“Huh?” Qi Nian turned back to the sketch book absentmindedly, pursing her lips. “Liu Xia, I think I fell in love at first sight with that man.” 

– The man whose eyes held a world of ice and snow.
